Aurlands and Naeroy Fjords

6th June 2015
After a beautiful drive through the mountains we have arrived at the tiny Fjord town of Flam, on Aurlands Fjord. This town has boat tours along the Fjord into Naeroy Fjord. Naeroy Fjord is known as one of the most beautiful, because it is narrower than most.

We are early in the season so there are not TOO many other tourists. There are thousands here in July and August apparently.

The scenery is stunning!

There are waterfalls everywhere as the snow melts and pours off the sides of the fjords.

These waterfalls were frozen a month ago!

After the cruise we drove up to a lookout. It's difficult to display the magnitude of these cliffs in a photo, but note the boat in the top right of this picture!

And the boat just below Joe's right hand.

This platform has been built for those of us unable (or unwilling) to climb out on slippery rocks above fjords for that magnificent shot seen in the tourist brochures....

It took guts to lean on that glass!

I wonder whether we have seen the best of Norway already or will this country have more to amaze and delight us!
